New to forum and could really use some help.I own a 1997 chevy suburban 1500 which thanks to some careless person now needs the pass. side mirror replaced. My question is does the plastic cap on the inside of the door come off  so you can gain access to the mirror?Any help would be appreciated, it seems like it should be a   repair anybody could do, and after getting quotes in the $100 range I hope to replace it with your help.
Thank you in advance for any info available.

get on ebay and buy a mirror for your year around 30 bucks and put on yourself the cap comes off and there should be 3 10mm bolts there to take the mirror off.if its electric then unplug harness and plug new mirror in and mount up and you should be fine.
