1994 Chevy s-10, V6 4cu. temp sender on left side of block viewing from front. Original Issue: temp gauge maxed out. Turned engine off and cooled - still maxed when turning ignition on. Chevy dealer provided a replacement sender. Was not same one-wire connector. They provided a compatible connector. Problem: Temp Gauge at zero when ignition off, moves 1/8 inch when on. Never changes position. When thermostat release water flow and sender senses temp change the CHECK ENGINE light comes on indicating sender is functional. Suggests a mismatch in sender resistance. Dealer says that's all they can provide. Question: How can I modify the resistance to match the gauge movement scale?

Howdy, staubrj561. A local parts store should have the matching sender unit.
