duel exhaust - 10/15/2007 6:39:11 PM    silver bullet   Posts: 17 Joined: 10/11/2007 Status: offline Just got my 2007 silverado 1500 ext cab Z71 4x4! Had a 2001 2500HD to trade in. I'm a chevy man all the way. Just want your thoughts on a duel pipe system with flomaster and ss tips or what else is out therethat you had experiane with already. Lot of dough spent on a good truck and don't want to make the wrong move on my duel exhaust. Thanks! New member and lovin it! Listen to this, My mechanic told me that I shouldn't put dual exhaust on my truck because of my 5.3 vortec engine having the AFM, or active fuel management. He said when the 4 cylinders dropped off and the engine was running on the other 4 that this is where you don't want dual exhaust. The reason is theres so little back pressure now that the 4 cyclinders (instead of 8) don't have (any) back pressure and is like running your engine with no exhaust at all which can lead to burnt valves etc. What do yall think of that???????------Steve Meyer at smpha8@insightbb.com (in reply to MagnaFlowZ71) Post #: 8
