Anyone help please! I purchased a 82' silverado a few months ago and the vacuum lines were burnt, missing, hanging down etc. I replaced all the hoses and along with two thermal switches and a brand new carb. I used a shop manual, haynes book and under the hood schematics. I thought that i had evrything right but I have avery high idle and it hesitates slightly when I shower down on it. I really never did understand how to read the schematic at the thermal switches. They have numerous ports and I can't tell what hooks to top right, bottom left port etc. I removed the hose from the vacuum advance on the distributor and found I had lots of vacuum and the idle came down considerbly. How can I know for absolutely sure that I have all the lines hooked up properly? PLEASE HELP! This is driving me crazy, I could spend months switching these lines till I found the correct combination.
