I have a 2004 cavalier and I have a big smelly hunting dog that comes with me in my car and I wanted to put in some seat covers so that the smell goes onto them and not into my car. So..I have some seat covers and in order to install them I need to take the head rests off. I can't seem to get them off. I pulled them up but they get to a certain point and they wont go any further. I tried putting something down (a hair pin) the same hole that the metal head rest bars go into but that didn't work. I was also considering taking the back seats right out so my dog would have a big flat area at the back. I read on another forum that there are some clips somewhere but I searched everywhere and could not find anything. Any help on either of these two issues would be greatly appreciated.

I was just reading through the forum and most of the topics are performance type questions. My apologies if these types of questions aren't meant for the forum.

I can't find it. I had a good feel around under the material and everything and I couldn't find any sort of button or latch to release the head rests.
