Did anyone get the 4.10 gear as to getting the 3.73. If anyone has driver both what difference can you tell.

Thanks in advance.

Snce we're not towing anything, we didn't opt for the 4.10's. You'll notice about 1 to 2 MPG difference with those gears as you'll run at higher RPM's than on 3.73's. The 4.10's are basically for towing. In fact, getting that option I believe requires the heavy duty cooling option as well (for towing).

Awesome,
Thanks for the reply...I didn't even think about the other upgrades that may have to be done. Thanks for the info. Ill probably just stick to the 3.73

For general highway use and towing things like small fishing boats and trailers, you're better off with the 3.73's. I'd only recommend 4.10's for towing large trailers or boats or other heavy loads.

I have a 07 LTZ 4x4 with 4.10 gears....... Awesome torque, great pick up off the line. I wanted the 4.10 gears b/c better to get them now then later when they will cost more just to install. Also installed an airraid system more mods to come next week.

Both models (2 or 4 wheel drive) have 320 hp and are slightly under-rated.

You're right about the power. I've driven a couple and it sure doesn't feel like 320 HP. My '96 Tahoe is peppier than any of the '07's I've driven.

OOPS! You said under rated. I don't know if I agree with that, but that's an opinion. Sorry I didn't read it right. Maybe the ones I drove had a bit of a lazy gear in them or wimpy because they were new and not broken in.
