They sell those code readers too. But I took mine to Autozone and it read the "cooling fan module" was out. This was after the engine light was on and I had it diagnosed at a local repair shop and they told me it was the fan clutch that was "about to go out". They quoted a price of $1600 parts/labor. The fan clutch, they said, was $500. I bought one for around 200 and my brother helped replace it. It took us close to 2 hours. But the engine light was still on and that's when Autozone helped me out. This new fan clutch fixed the rpm gauge problem too!!! It would go crazy sometimes and get stuck on gauge at 5, 6, or 7. Sometimes it would just go all the way (clockwise) and stay there for a few days. It would eventually work its way back to zero and work fine for a few days. THIS, I was told, could only be fixed by replacing the entire instrument panel at a rate of 800-1100 dollars. I hope this helps some of you out.
