I am new to the forum and would like some expert opinion. I just bought a 1998 Silverado 1500 ext cab short bed 2wd. It is an automatic and has the 5.7 vortec with 91000 miles. I have heard that these trucks have more than average mechanical problems, especially transmissions and coolant leaking issues. I was skeptical as I know not to believe everything I read on the internet. Chevy has been in the truck business a long time so I overlooked what I had read. OK now let me know if I made mistake.
