1996 k2500 suburban DRL's

I am importing a 1996 k2500 suburban into Canada and this U.S. made SUV is suppose to be equipped with daytime running lights. I have checked all of the fuses and they are fine. On the driver display it shows that the DRL's are activated, but there are no lights? When I turn my lights on manually the display for DRL's goes out. Is there something that I am missing? Maybe a module?

Check your underhood fuse / relay box.  There is probably a relay there.

To my knowledge DRL were not LAW in the US in 96, not sure when it was law there, I know canada had it long before them....so it may not be equipped,

There are 4 relays in the fuse/relay box under the hood. It doesn't look like there are any missing, I'll check them with my volt meter. I did notice something coming out of what looks like, maybe the ignition, black and a white wire with a fuse (15).  Fuse was no good so I replaced it, nothing changed.
Took a photo of the fuse/relay box but was too large to post!

There should be a paper on the inside of the underhood fuse box telling you which relay is which. I think I misdirected you to that location anyway.

I don't have the info specific to the 1996 model, but in the 1998 and 1999 models, there is a drl fuse, which you have found; there is a drl module (Under the left side of the Instrument Panel, taped to the IP harness); and there's a drl relay (Under the left side of the IP, at the lower center of the convenience center).  The "convenience center" is a panel of relays that's against the firewall under and to the left of the steering column.

Thanks, I've checked the left side fuse panel but not the "convenience center"
Just checked! What a mess under there!  Along with a trailer braking unit which I knew about, The "convenience center" near the drivers column looks like a mess with nothing labeled drl and wires cut and attached to nothing, wires with fuses in the center of their connection etc.....
I'm starting to think this vehicle was used in law enforcement. I also have what looks like speaker patch cords under the passenger seat. ???? Interesting.......
