Just got back from our El Paso trip. 630 miles each way and going down we got 19.7 and 18.5 on 1 1/2 tanks and coming back we got 21.7 and 19.5 on 1 1/2 tanks so we are very impressed with highway driving. We have 15k on the odometer now and drove at night with no A/C and cool temperatures around 55-60 degrees.

I have gotten 19-20 on trips driving most interstate around 77MPH, no AC with cooler air! But on average I get around 16-17.

I'm at about a 16 average. The only time I've gotten better is driving slower. I'm Jealous. Jason

We were going 65-85 going down and 65-70 comming back and sat through about an hour and a half of morning traffic comming back. And it wasn't like we had a light load either, we had 4 adults plus luggage. On our trip out west this past summer, our worst was 16.5 and our best was 20 if I remember correctly but with the air on and a huge head wind. We haven't done any modifications either so maybe with exhaust and intake we can squeeze a bit more out on the highway. City we are gettting anywhere from 14 to 18 depending on conditions.

i'm a little disappointed in the gas mileage i am getting in my 2007 tahoe also. i've put a little over 9k miles on it in the last 9 month since the purchase. when they claim 17-22 mpg for the 2WD, i would expect to be somewhere in that ballpark at some time. the displacement on demand does not work as advertised either. my engine is always in 8-cyl mode unless i have my foot completely off the gas or stopped at a light, then it will kick into 4-cyl mode for that short period. right now i am averaging about 15 mpg overall. i must say that i have a bit of a heavy foot (70-75 mph highway), although my acceleration from a stop is rather smooth and consistent. i drive about a 55/45% split between city/highway. i did take the Tahoe on a 800 mile trip from San Francisco to LA which was almost all highway and really tried to baby the throttle and got 16 mpg at best. then again i was doing 80-85 mph most of the way which may not have helped. my guess is that even if i did 55 mph the whole trip, the best i would get was 18 mpg.

On my Nav. the low fule is turned on but it never tells me that I am low. Not that I need it when I have a fule guage. But I was ust wondering if any one else has had this problem By the way I get about 16mpg on my 4x4 tahoe
