2005 Malibu - 9/26/2007 2:59:11 PM    Nikki   Posts: 1 Joined: 9/26/2007 Status: offline Has anyone ever heard of the steering column in a 2005 Malibu breaking?  And what causes something like that to happen on an almost 2 year old vehicle?  Dealer costs with no warranty left is $1500.00 Canadian.  It just seems really odd. RE: 2005 Malibu - 9/28/2007 10:06:54 AM    MalibuMaxxSS Posts: 598 Joined: 11/18/2006 Status: offline not breaking...but I had some issues with the 'electric' steering box going on mine, GM had a notice about it..basically it would kinda steer on its on, if you turn the wheel the electric assist would take over and steer it more and you had to actually pull the wheel back.....replaced 2 on mine _____________________________ 2006 Malibu Maxx SS, computer Flashed, undercar LED, Cold air intake, 18' Potenzas, Limo tint front to back 1990 YJ Lifted Locked and always muddy, posi loc, 33s TSLs, weber carb. drop tailgate...
