I have an 86 Monte Carlo SS that I have been working on for the past few years. I have been considering converting it to a manual. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice such as pros and cons. I've heard from many people who say it is a hassle more than its worth and others that say its difficult but can be done. Just looking for opinions.

My '71 Monte Carlo had a custom made manual in it (but it was originally automatic). I had many problems with the declutching, and after 11 years (3 years droven by me) the clutch literally exploded after a 1/4-mile race). Well, now I've got the (original) automatic transmission installed and I would prefer it compared with the manual transmission. But it's your desicion. And yes it sure hassles sometimes...
