My Dad is having an issue with his 02 Chevy Astro Van.

Basically, here's what happened. He was driving down the freeway with the cruise control on and when he turned it off, he noticed that it wouldn't disengage all the way. The pedal seemed to stay pushed in so that the engine kept revving higher.

Since then, he's had to manually adjust the carburator where you control how fast the engine revs. Otherwise, it revs really high in idle.

I haven't seen the car and I'm doing the best I can to describe it from what he told me on the phone. Does anyone have any ideas on what it might be or what he can try/look for?
