I have a 2007 LTZ 4WD with the 20" wheels. The 20" tires have little sidewall, and I'm about to begin a big construction project for which 4WD will be very handy. I'm looking for smaller diameter rims so I can fit some tires on there that are a little better for light offroading.

So my question is, what diameter fits over the calipers? I'd like to go with 17" but I'm guessing 18" is as small as I can go -- if that.

Also, anybody know what tire width fits without rubbing?

17" is what comes standard on most (20" is included with the LTZ package), so you should be safe going back to stock tire.  Also look at your spare - I am pretty sure its 17".  Good Luck

Don't all the 4WD LTZs have full-size spares? Either way I'm pretty sure mine is full-size, but it hadn't occurred to me to check it.

Thanks for the info.

While not a typical space saver spare, the 20" wheel spare is a smaller steel wheel (don't remember exact size) with a larger profile tire so the OD is the same as the 20s.
