I have a 2000 silverado, well really '99 but the 2000 body style. It has a 4.8 vortec and I think a 4 speed auto-tranny. I got the exhaust done at a friend of a friends shop. It added a lot of performance over 3000 rpm but below that (1500-3000) its just not quite as powerful nor responsive. Any ideas on cheap or weasy ways to get a lot more low end power/speed?

Try a throttle body spacer and K&N system or airhog system. I dont kno much for fuel injection stuff but try it if you want.

Will that also help with throttle response? Is a throttle body spacer hard to install?

Maybe if ya had a performance throttle body with a spacer yes it might give ya quicker throttle response. Research what ya have n then look through stuff on Summit or Jegs or Jcwhitney, then make a choice.
