Hello, I'm a first time poster here and I got given to me a 1988 Chevy Cheyenne(305) with a fuel problem. I got fuel up to the throttle body but thats as far as it goes no spray from the injectors. whats the best and cheapest fix ?

Check for injector pulse with a test light at the clip on for the injector during cranking. If there is none my bet would be on the ECM needing replaced. Check your ECM fuses first.

OK, the fuel problem was the throttle body, So I purchase a replacement from Holley (670 CFM).

I'm also getting code 22 TPS circuit (signal voltage low)
Haynes says
quote:

Check for sticking or misadjusted TPS. Check all wiring and connections at the TBS and at the PCM.Replace TPS

TPS is new, all connection look good, but I will go over it again. I'm not sure but I think my 1988 doesn't have a PCM.?.

a local garage put the motor and distributor in and new throttle body on but they told me the throttle body was the wrong one for that engine so they put the old one back on, and then it didn't start...

so, I put the new throttle body back on and it started but I can't seem to get the idle down its real high ...

I was wondering if someone could tell me the position of the distributor rotor ? I know its to be pointing to #1, but in relation to the engine .
