I put one on and I did see a difference.  It was a lot louder and my mileage got worse.

That sucks, what kind did you get & What year/engine do you have?

If you think about it, a spacer wouldn't make a difference at all.

I really don't see how it would. It's supposed to add a spiral to the air to give it a better fuel mix, but how would it help when the air gets split into 8 separate combustion chambers.

What about a new upgraded Throttle Body or an upgraded Mass Air Flow Sensor?

It was an Airaid brand.  It was on a 99 Suburban with a 5.7L engine.  It was getting about 15 mpg and it went to 13 or so with the spacer.

How much do you want to spend on it. Depending on your budget, there are plenty of things you could for the performance of your truck.

Ron thats funny but yeah it sucks!!  Monkey- Start with the exhaust, programmer and the CAI.  You can always set your settings back to stock if you have to take it in for service.  Shoot for 4K you can put a supercharger on there once your warranty is over.

Not sure if i will ever go supercharger. Is there even one out for the 5.3l? I've seen and like the STS turbo product, has anyone had any experience with it?

There is a supercharger for the 5.3 I saw a bolt on kit somewhere once.  I have not heard about the turbo, that would be neat.

http://ststurbo.com/home It's a rear monted turbo.

Is there any kind of Electric Fan kit to eliminate the OEM clutch driven fan?
