"Chevy Avalanche is the industry’s most flexible utility vehicle, combining the passenger-comfort attributes of an SUV with the cargo capability of a truck. It is based on GM’s full-size SUV platform, which features segment-leading fuel economy and flex-fuel capability; a sharp, precise driving feel, interior refinement and notable quietness..."

This is from a new review on 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, from Top Speed. It includes info on the design, safety and performance of the model, as well as other features. Also available is a wallpaper / photo gallery.

Yep I am thinking about trading my Tahoe in on one.  I miss having a truck bed.

We just bought a 2008 Avalanche - precisely for the suv\truck features.  We went with the ltz model loaded and so far love the comfortable ride.  Love the navigation system too (though now we want the dvd video abilities too).  The heated seats are a great feature too.    This truck definately passes the 'cool test'.

Only problems so far - one hour after driving the truck we got a tire pressure error - have to have the dealership check this out , as all looks fine with the tires. Also got a speeding ticket - this truck drives way to nice going down the road - so watch out *smile*.

It's only been a two days - we'll update you.

Chevrolet Avalanche is one of the best Sport Utility Trucks.
Crash test score and safely equipments are excellent but it offer a poor fuel economy.

It has a lot of room and a very safe one.
The redesigned exterior is pleasing.

Hi, I purchased my 08 Avalanche in Oct.  I went from a 04 Avalanche, I love the new body style.  I have had no problem so far.  I do have a question for other Avalanche owners.  How offen are you have your oil change done?  Are you going with the monitor, or old school 3000 miles.

I could not decide between a full size SUV (Yukon Denali / Tahoe) and a full size 4 door truck (Sierra Denali).  Luckily I didn't have too, as I got the best of both worlds with the Avalanche.

I came from a Nissan pathfinder that I loved, but it is SOOOOOO nice to be able to throw things in the back and not worry about getting the inside dirty.  It is also nice to have such a big truck, yet get about the same gas mileage.

Only 1 week in, but I love mine, and have already done half a dozen mods:-)

If you have the MP3 jack (audio jack)...get an MP3 player, like ipod or zune, and connect it with an audio cable and you will have all your music with you at all times
