Hey there. I own a 2004 Trailblazer and about 3 days ago I noticed that everytime I turn on the AC, the passenger side carpet on the floor gets drenched with water. I wonder what this is caused by and do I need to take it to the shop or is there something I can do at home to fix this?

If you can find the evaporator drain hose you can claen it out. I haven't looked at my '04 (just got it yesterday, but the drain hose (rubber) is usually coming out of the firewall into the engine compartment & heading down toward the bottom. That's the hose that makes the big water puddle under the car when you park. If you can't locate it from the engine compartment, run the AC & look under the car & trace the drip. If the hose isn't completely clogged it should still drip a bit. On my Pathfinder I have unclipped the hose from the bottom, lifted it up & blown the debris back into the evaporator. It would be difficult to fully clean the debris out of the evaporator, so blowing it back works for me. BTW the "debris" is usually tree related droppings like those little oak seads that get through the vent ducting. Good luck & you should take care of this right away. It will not get better by itself & the damp carpet will start to grow mold & smell. Not to mention that usually the efficiency of the AC is impacted. regards kevin
