Hey guys I am new to this forum. I just sold my car and want to get a Silverado. I will not be towing anying, the most I might tow is a motorcycle trailer. I am an avid hunter and make long drives across the the country. So I wanted a truck that will be comfortable, reliable, with some off-road ability for trails. I hope to spend under 30k, but wanted a nice truck; leather, 4x4, crew cab, etc. What are the advantages with the 5300 over the 4800 motor? If the 4800 is a solid motor but isn't availible with leather no worries I'll get it aftermarket. I cannot find the MPH on either motor either. I don't want to be getting bad gas mileage, is the 4800 better? Also looking on-line I could not find the Z-71 package, which trim is that availible in and which motor? Thanks guys and sorry if its a repeat thread, Alexander G.

go for the 5.3L i know of a couple people with thoes and they like them, others say the 4.8 just feels too weak as in it doesnt act like a proper 8 cyl, the idea of a trailer also leans more to the slightly larger engine it will act better going up hills. also remember your only planning on the motorcycle but whose to say 2 years from now you wont get something bigger, being prepared is worth it, and it also has a higher resale
