I own a 1994 chevy caprice wagon 5.7 V8 with 160,000 miles. It has been stalling during regular driving conditions, but if I wait about a half houur it starts up again and is drivable. What may be the problem?

I had this problem with my 83. Mine started up right away though. It would only happen after I let it sit at a light in gear. I ended up taking my whole gas tank down cleaning it all out because the build up in old cars. Replaced the fuel filter and it has not given me any problems yet. If I were you I don't know if I take down the tank because that isn't too old. Maybe try some kind of fuel system cleaner or something like that and change the filter?

I have the exact same problem ! I've changed the fuel pump last week, but I'm still having the stalling problem. I don't know if it's the ecu or a crank trigger sensor or whatever. I pulled the codes on the wagon, but no codes. I'm stumped, if you find the problem, I'd appreciate a ring.
