Yesterday I left my truck in my driveway for app. 10 min. and did not apply the security system. I came back, attpempted to start the vehicle, and it seemed as tho the power in my truck had been turned off. My dad belives the security system thought the start was a threat to the vehicle and cut off the power. If ANYONE knows how to reset this, please let me know...for this is a major inconvieninse.

Symptoms:
Lock/Unlock remote doesn't seem to operate.
When I put the key in ignition it makes the ring noise, but when I turn the ignition nothing happens.
If I pump the break a number of times the gauges spin.

Thanks,

Colt

Extra Info:
99' Silverado 5.3L
Battery is fully charged

Check your battery connection.  Make sure your cables are clean and tight at the battery posts.  A bad connection can cause what you are describing.

I agree with RonH.  Especially check and clean the negative connection.  If it is dirty it will work for low current pull but not for a starter.

i have done all of this...i believe it is just the security system disabling the battery current.

The Passlock doesn't disable the ignition , it disables the fuel pump.

That sounds more like it since the security system has no affect on things like door locks , etc.
