The new Silverado looks just like a stepside model to me. As with styling differences with the 07 Tahoe and Suburban I think it is mainly on the interior.

You obviously haven't driven the new Tahoe, Suburban or Avalanche then.
And wait till you see (and drive) the new Silverado, it is far better than the previous product in every aspect and light years ahead of the competition in refinement.

I am lucky enough to work at a GM dealership and have seen the new trucks. The body on the trucks is not the only thing that has changed. The frame is almost fully boxed now and the suspension has been reworked some. Mostly for ride quality. The rumor that the Z06 engine will be available in the SS is a true rumor. It will still be all wheel drive, but you will pay a pretty penny for the package and the engine. The interior will be exactly like the tahoes, but a little more truck like. We should start seing them in november, maybe late October. It is a mid year body change due to the fact that GM isn't doing so well right now.

I haven't heard a thing about that and I too work at a dealership. From what I've been told by our dealer manager, the new Silverados will actually be out early January, no sooner.

The all new GMT900 Silverado 1500 crew cab's are rolling into dealers as we speak.
The Ext cab models are on deck and the Reg Cab's are warming up for an early December launch.

The HD models will be out after the first of the year.

Agreed, I came out of a loaded 2006 F250 (I purchased a 07 Tahoe) and the Chevrolet's have taken a huge leap. Much more refined than Ford and Dodge at this time.  I cant wait to see the new HD silverados.

The new Silverado's have been out for awhile now. Well, at least the crew cab ones and I am starting to see the ext cab and reg cabs too. At first I didn't like them when I saw pictures of them several months ago but now I really like them. I have looked at a lot of them and they are really nice. The interior is really nice, way better then any other competitor's. They are supposed to be better in every area then the previous trucks.
