low beams will not work by automatic sensor or by turning the headlight switch. High beams are fine. I am thinking there is a problem with the dimmer swith. Anyone familiar with this or have any suggestions?

What you should do is start at the headlight socket. Turn the lights on and see if there is power. Try the body for a ground rather than the ground wire. If there is power, try it with the ground wire. If it doesn't show, then your ground is faulty. Your lowbeams are linked in parallel with the same ground if I'm correct. So if the ground wire isn't working you wont get any light. The highbeams would work because you have quad lights, so seperate wires. The dimmer switch only controls the interior/dash lights. Even if you disconnect the dimmer switch, the headlights shoudl still work. Check it out.

Your idea was right on! I couldn't find the ground connection, so I regrounded the low beam side to the frame and everything is fine. Thanks.
