My father just baught a 92' suburban. Everything is well excep that the radio does not work. It's wierd, the lights come on, but:
1) the equalizer/tape deck in the middle of the dash will not power on at all.
2) the clock will not change, it stays @ 1:00 at all time
3) some buttons acknowledge that you have pressed them, i.e. if the clock is on the screen, and you press VOL, the vol comes up on the screen but will not move up or down.
4) obviously no sound is coming from the stereo even though the volume says to be at about 1/2 power.
any suggestions on this??

Also, he put out an add on our local trading post for a used original, and a guy called him and said that he has a 90' model that he took out when he baught it brand new and that
it is a CD player, I am not sure, but I don't think CD players were out at this time. Also any suggestions.

Any Help is appreciated, and GREAT forum!

I tried the replacement option, and still the same things are occurring with my 92 Silverado stereo system.  Anybody out there have an idea what in the system is causing the conflict?  I have checked fuses, pulled the entire dash, ???  Still getting the 1:00 on the screan, no sound from the system, nada.

Help!  Thanks, Hitowr

I'm having the same problem with a 1992 Silverado... I wish there was more info on it. My truck has been sitting for a while with a bad battery...
