Have a 1985 5.0 c10 pickup.  Need to  replace the distributor.  The truck has an ecm box in it behind the glove box.
The question I have is can I use a non computerized distributor and by-pass the ecm box by jumpering the A and C pins on the ecm plug?

Well if its carbureted yes, but you just have to get it timed right like normal engine. I doubt there were any engine sensors on a '85 half ton so i think all ya need is to unplug one wire going to the distibutor for the computer advancing the timing to specification.
