Greetings, i have a 1994 S-10 with the 2.2 liter engine with 5 speed manual transmission. On the right side of the engine behind the alternator there is a fusiable link. I am not sure where exactly it goes. The wire in brown in color, and almost looks like it should go to the alternator itself, but there is another wire that is there from the battery. I have looked in both the Haynes and Chilton manuals with no luck. Do you know i can find a wiring diagram for the truck?

I hope you can help.. thanx

try lookin at the alt. to see if there is a spot where itshould be bolted at the very least if everything else works like it should just leave it. when you start the truck does it have power? try a volt meter to see.

on the back of the alternator there is a place that a wire does go to. According to my repair manual the wire that goes there comes from the battery cable itself. Do you think both wires could go together at the same place by any chance? I have not tried to start the truck yet, because of the wire. I been thinking about today. I want to think the 2 wires did go together together. but i am not sure

To let you know happen. Last year i took the front end apart. because i was find rust hidden along the radiator support and inner fender. I cleaned it up and painted it. Well, it took longer than i thought. I forgot where a couple of parts went when i was putting it back together.

been there before. chances are then that it is your charging wire. the truck should start without that wire but if im right i think that when the truck is running that it wont charge your battery.

the fusiable link did go to the alternator.
I found a similar truck at the local car lot, i was able to take a look to see where it went.

when in doubt look at a dealership for another. I was about to suggest that.
Oh well
At least you figured it out. That is the important thing.
