ORIGINAL: jmitchell Yes, but when he goes to sell his '07 he'll have alot less miles than the '07's purchased in '06. So he'll gain his value back there. Mileage is one component of depreciation, model year is another. You buy an 07 in Aug before 08s are out and you take a hit as soon as you drive it off the lot. Then when the 08s come out a month later, you get hit with the model year depreciation. If you are planning on keeping it for 5-10 years then it doesn't matter much.

Aside from the advantage of buying an '07 and coming out ahead because of the "offset depreciation", so to speak (rebates, sales, etc.), what's on the 2008 model that might make it the more attractive buy? The hybrid is supposed to be available in '08 but that might have limited appeal. Six-speed automatic? New exterior colors? Wet bar? Pez dispenser? Is there any advantage for waiting for 2008? Seems to me that the hybrid or six-speed automatic are the obvious choices... Hi, I'm still new here!

I think I saw in another thread that the six speed will be a 2009 debut in the Tahoe. This has some more info: http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/NASApp/domestic/brandsel.jsp?year=2008

Is there a list of all the 2007 bugs ?? Also... who would want a battery/gas hybrid Tahoe... Surely it would have any torque and couldn't tow....

Battery/electric torque is almost instant and therefore making your post seem pretty ridiculous and maybe a little mis-informed

That being said, an electric motor has maximum torque a zero rpm unlike an IC engine that has no torque initially. Therefore making a gas/electric combo pretty good. Gets you off the line quick!

Thanks for the explanation... I wonder how they will be for towing... Also the same question comes up as with all hybrids... How long will the batteries last and how much to replace when needed....
