I have a 1999 2-door chevy tahoe with the factory fender flares. These fender flares have a tendency to suck. Instead of making them out of solid color plastic all the way through, they are yellow plastic with a coating over them. Well, my coating has started to wear off, and now I have bright yellow spots of my fender flares. This looks about as bad as it sounds. So, I have decided that the best thing to do is to take them off and coat them with herculiner or something tough that will not wear off. My question is how do i take these off to paint? There are bolts that seem to hold them on, but after removing those, they still wont move. Are there some bolts that i am missing, or some special trick to get them off? Would it be easier to just tape off the truck and paint them while they are already on? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

yhey may me held on with two sided tape i know mine were n my 99 blazer. if they are you should be able to get them off still but then you have to get the tape off the truck and the flares then replace it after. it depends on if you want to do it or if it may be faster to tape it off and paint it that way. hope this helps.
