I removed my lockpick from my 2007 Tahoe and installed it in the 2007 Suburban that we just bought.  My lockpick is the 1st generation.  The only difference between the two vehicles is the Suburban has the back up camera and the Tahoe does not.  When I put the suburban in gear the I can override the screen and watch the dvd, when I start to move, about 5mph, the screen shuts off and I am unable to override it.  All of the dip switches are set to the up or off position.  I have changed all of the dip switch settings and nothing seems to work. I have also cut the green wire with the white stripe and reconected them with the two purple leads just like I did in our Tahoe. Has anyone else had this problem?  Or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix my problem?

I believe it has to do with the part number of the Nav unit itself.  If you have the older nav unit that ends in 66 or 67 then it works fine.  But If you have the one that ends in 02 or 03,  I dont think the First Gen Lock pick works well with it.  I have the second gen lockpick and the nav part number 15940102 and it does the same thing when it is set to manual dvd unlock.  It only works when i set the dip switch number 1 down for automatic unlock of dvd, but when I do that, the Radio does'nt power on when the Tahoe sits for several hours, unless i press the eject button, or turn the car off with the door open and turn it back on.  I know that there is a upgrade available for $10.00 for Gen 2 owners but I dont know about Gen 1.  The Gen 3 is suppost to work better with the newer nav units.  Maybe you can contact Coastal Tech for ideas or maybe they might give you a discount on the Gen 3.

Thanks for the reply, I have contacted costal 4 times now and I have received one response that did not answer my question.  I hesitate to buy from them again based on their follow up.

I swapped my lockpick 2 for the 3rd model and everything works fine now. i have the dip switch 1 in the down position and If i want to have full time dvd playback on the screen, then I have to press the mute button 4 times. By doing that , It locks my position on the nav. If I want to have the nav work again, I have to press the window lockout button once and the nav will begin to track movement,(just may not be the right street). After about a mile or two of driving It will have my correct position. I would recommend that if you need the Nav to direct you some where, I would put the lockpick in normal mode by pressing the window lockout within the last five miles of any major turns or directions.
