OK, the dealer called me back and told me to come in tomorrow and they will install the tow hooks and exhaust tip. Then I can order the rims while I'M there.

I did go to a larger dealer to look at rims as I knew they had some on trucks a while back. The ris on the tahoe are also nice and I may even pick them over the 951 as I have seen them in person. I do not like the rims on the avalance.

Not a big fan of those either... I'd stick with the 951's I.  I have now seen four of the six wheels available and I personally think the dealers should stop putting this package on vehicles if the buyers don't order it.

I did order it. The problem I had was they had to have my suburban made as there were none available in the north/east the way I wanted it. I wanted the power running bords with light cashmere leather and the chrome package. The truck took a little over 6 weeks to get to the dealer. When I saw it the first thing I noticed was it didn't have the chrome rims but insted had the 20" polished rims. I waited so long I was like "screw-it, I'M taking it without the chrome" and never even asked the dealer about what happen to the chrome untill I saw your thread and decided to look at my window sticker. I guess if I ever run into you I owe you a beer...

I,M not sure if they will let me keep the polished rims? My understanding is they swap the polished for the chrome. If anyone knows anything about this let me know. If they do let me keep the polished rms I'll post it here and let you know.

Well I just got back from the dealer and they say that the 951'a are on quarantine??? Yeah quarantine. I told them that is the only rim I want. I went home and I jsut got off the phone with Chevrolet Detroit and they gave me a case number. They say they will call me back tomorrow to follow up on this. I don't see how they are still on the GM and the Chevrolet website and they can't get them. It's a shame that a set of $1,600.00 rims sold a $58,000.00 truck.

Quarantine?  I have never heard of that... I will meet ya for a beer!  :)  I had to argue with the dealer to keep mine (polished) the company told the dealer they didn't want them because they waited too long... I assume you may be in the same situation.  Good luck and keep us updated... I am in Detroit area, let me know if I can do anything for you...

Yeah nether have I with a set of wheels, I only thought they could do that to live stock, food and stuff like that? Oh well you learn something new everyday.

I told the dealer that I wanted the 951's and they said they couldn't get them to pick another rim because I can't put to many miles on the polished rims I have now. I told them to give me a day to think about what one I want, and I have now made up my mind. I still want the 951's or a refund minus the chrome tow hooks and polished exhaust tip they installed yesterday.
I would rather send my polished rims out to a chrome plater for $600.00 then pick a set of rims I don't like and live with them.

What I don't get is if the 951's are not available then why are they still listed on GM's parts website along with Chevrolets website?

I will keep the noise up at Chevrolet and my local dealer till they find me that rims I want or give me a refund.
