My 01 burb does the same thing.  I've been told its the Temperature control actuator GM #52474810 (about $80.00).  Its just under the passenger side underdash trim panel.  The actuator gets stuck in full on position and resets when you turn the truck off.  Replace or just run the heat at 3/4.  I plan to replace mine this fall.

Has anyone replaced their actuator? Does it work?

How about a pic of the location of the actuator.  I live in AZ and having no a/c is a very BAAADDDDD thing for my wife and daugther since she drives it more.

Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
