The driver's seat on the wife's 03 Trailblazer LTZ will no longer move forward or back. All other operations of the seat work fine. The dealer is telling me $900 parts and labor for a seat adjuster. Any one heard of a seat adjuster? Is this just a motor? Sounds like a lot of money for a motor.

Ebay or junk yard would be the way to go.  I know the junk yard sounds crazy but sometimes they actually have a few decent things, pending on how organized they are and all that. Check for GM seat motor just in case a i.e.avalanche or envoy motor seat might fit.  Just my two cents.

I called around to the local junk yard and found a whole seat for $175. I called the dealer back to decline the reapair, when I picked up the Trailblazer, the seat is working now. Was this a loose connection or a pending failure? I think I am going to wait on the replacement seat and see what happens.

It might be a dirty or sticking switch.  It could be that the dealer did a firmware upgrade while it was there.  As long as it's working, go with it.

And by the way, for LBlazeIII, you should never run down salvage yards or the items you can buy there.  They may call them junk yards, but that does not mean the parts are junk.  The cars are usually only there because they happened to be damaged for some reason.  A car that has been whacked in the front or rear end or had the engine go bad might have an interior with less wear than yours.

Remember, all cars run on used parts.
