The large black plastic intake plenum must be removed to access the plugs and coils, you can see the mounting bolts on both sides of it, and release the intake hose, it comes off easily.

Not sure coz I had a mechanic check on it whenever there's a problem with spark plugs. I'm still in the process of learning. When my spark plug was misfiring, I checked it on a mechanic and said that I had a worn out a GM spark plug wire and that  causes the misfiring. The electricity that they carry may be transmitted elsewhere so there's that failure.

The coils (5) are mounted on top of the valve cover under the air box. The coils must be removed to access the plugs. The coils are those wierd looking things with the heat sinks. the the wiring harness plugs into the coils. The coils are underneath the airbox which will have to be removed for access. I removed mine and installed a True flow intake and filter. It really cleans up the look and gives better mileage and performance to boot.           Dirk
