I have a new 07 with about 200 miles on it and today I got on it a little more. I noticed that when I pressed the peddle to around 50% or so, from just cruising, there seems to be a little lag before it takes off. I can't tell if there is a throttle lag or a transmission shift lag. Anyway it doesn't seem normal. Anyone else have this problem?

I got it too, plus occasional hesitation coming out of a dead stop.

I notice it when I try to get on the freeway real quick....
As if I was driving a Ford Escort or something. Feels like theres no power at all. Only really feel it going from like 50 to 70 or so.

I don't know the exact terms but it is a sort of restrictor that GM puts in the tunning of our trucks. The hesitation is supposed to protect the drive train or something like that.

You can improve that hesitation with a Programmer. But I haven't done it myself. Just based on bits of information I've picked up here and there.

I had an 03 Silverado Z71 that I made a lot of mods but traded that for wifey's Lexus and I got the LTZ. Anyway, my Silverado had the same hesitation. I did notice on my Silverado that after I got an exhaust system it really opened it up. Much better throttle response.

The feature that you are describing is called "Torque management" and that is not the root cause of the acceleration hesitation that is being described above.
The lag is caused by the updated engine control module calibration software that was written to ensure proper ethanol content calculation. Evidently it is leaning the mixture out during certain operational conditions, hold tight and GM will release an update to resolve this issue.

Has anyone had this successfully updated? I had this problem today when trying to enter the highway, thought I was going to get crushed until it finally kicked in.

Ford Escort! Come on, use the Pinto as a comparison. I drive a 1999 Ford Escort every day. Dang, that hurts my feelings. I will make sure my car (Betsy is her name) doesnt read this post! I am hurt by this comparison.
