Where is the fuel filter on a 2004 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab 4.8litre located?

Warpig6,
I believe the filter is along the frame on the drivers side. There will be pressure built up in the line so, be careful when you loosen it.

Good Luck ,Dondobe

I recently looked at fuel filters. They do go in the line and are usually on the frame on the drivers side.

If you want to relive the pressure on the fuel rail to the injectors (be careful) their is a valve stem used to bleed air out of the system, just hit that like you are letting air out of a tire.  The filter should be on the inside of the ds frame rail, (like said above) Or you can crack the line slowly and watch your eye's.

On your particular truck there is no replaceable fuel filter, there is a life-time filter located on the tank.

ZX11OOF1,
Thanks!  I knew that most were located on the drivers side (like the one I changed on my old Chevy S-10), but I couldn't find it even after the suggested posts...no wonder!
