I'm considering the purchase of a used 2003 Suburban 2500 LT 4x4.  The truck has 84,000 miles and is very clean inside and out.  The only issue was while test driving the steering felt very loose.  The truck felt like it was wandering side to side and needed frequent correction.  Any ideas?  The tires had about 30% left.  The truck has AutoRide rear suspension.  Is it possible that it needs a front suspension overhaul or could it be something more simple?  Any advice would be appreciated.

Take it to an alignment shop that can give you an accurate evaluation of the front end and the cost to fix it properly.  Some shops may do it for free and that would be great, but if necessary, pay them for their service.  You may save yourself many dollars to find out its condition before you do the deal.
