I have a 2003 Suburban. I am having problems with the 60/40 second row seat. The '40' portion of the seat will no longer slide forward to provide access to the third row. Upon checking the track under the seat, I found a small piece of plastic that held one of the cables in place, broken. I went to a local Chevy dealer as was told that the plastic piece couldn't be purchased separately, but the entire setup had to be purchased for $260! A friend has an '01 Yukon XL and when I checked for the setup on his, the plastic piece is also broken on his. Can anyone tell me if you've had similar problems and if you've been able to find the plastic part someplace? I can't imagine that it'd cost more that a buck or two. If possible, please send a reply to my email at dmaag@mehlvillefire.gen.mo.us. Thanks!

I had the same problem and I was able to "rig" something up totally bypassing the plastic piece. It worked for awhile. Now I just pull the bottom of the seat forward then the back totally down to let the rear passenger out. Yep-- the dealer actually had one of those seat tracks in stock-- that tells me that that plastic piece comes out often. Good thing is-- even if you rig it up-- it doesn't hurt anything- because you'll eventually replace it all anyway as part of that track.
