ECM Code

mbpumps -> ECM Code (2/1/2007 6:38:27 AM)

In my 2000 Chevy Silverado I'm trying to remove DTC codes but
looks like I'm doing something wrong. Testing with scanner Actron
OBD II AUTOSCANNER MODEL CP9135 show two codes that are the same
P1345 and the P1345 with a pd sign to the right of the code.
The message from scanner is: Manufacturer Contrl. ignition system or
misfire.
My first try was: spark plugs and wires.
Second: rotor and cap.
Third: Coil
Fourth: Small Module next to ignition coil
Fifth: Changed the ECM 3 times and the truck didn't turn on with the
new computers only with the old computer.
At the parts store told me that i need to take it to the dealer to
make a security code program and/or do a flush to the computer.
The truck works fine but the codes needs to be removed in order to get
pass the smog test.
I really don't know what to do next.

Pull the negative battery cable for at least half an hour to clear the codes. There no way of telling how long it will be before the codes come back though.

Good luck.

btw... P1345 = camshft to crankshaft position correlation fault

I disconected the battery all night. Nothing happens.
I turned on the engine and leave it for a couple of minutes then turrned off.
Scanner: main menu, key on engine off, main menu and read, and again the two codes then codes erased, key off engine off, engine started a couple minutes, key off engine off, scaner on main menu, key on engine off, read and again same thing.

I think you're throwing money in the wrong places... hint... camshaft to crankshaft position correlation fault. The ECU uses these sensors to control the injectors and the spark plugs timings.

Get yourself a Haynes or Chilton manual.

After checking crankshaft and camshaft position sensors and didn't find anything abnormal I decided to remove distributor to check for something lose. The drive gear of the distributor was worn out, Distributor changed no more problems. Thanks for the hint.
