Hi, I'm new to the formum and looking for some technical help on a custom project. I'm putting a Chevy 4.3L V6 and 700-R4 tranny in a 1968 Opel Kadett. I'm going with a carburator and no computer. Here are my questions: Did GM produce any distributors for this motor that weren't computer controlled and used a carb rather than EFI? If so, on what year and model? Also, I've been told that some of the GM vehicles with a 4.3 used tubular steel exhaust manifolds rather than cast. Since this is a custom application, it'll be a lot easier to cut and modify the steel style. Does anyone know for sure on what year and models these were available? I know I can get aftermarket performance parts for this motor but since this is a low budget project, I'd like to find the parts in local salvage yards and they always want to know what year, make, and model. I haven't found any of them to be too helpfull without that information. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton!!!!
