The 1 and 2 on the blower knob, do not work, but the 3, 4, and 5 work fine. Is this a switch that is totally shot? or can you pull off the plastic knob and shoot it with WD-40 or silicone or something to try to clean it? Can you even pull the knob off without breaking it?

In case anyone else has this prob. since it is supposed to be common. It's the blower resistor, under the dash by the blower. It will cost around $40 at a dealer. They say it is a 10 min. job. Not true. It is plastered up against the firewall, and you cannot get the two back screws out. There is no room, at least not in the '03.
