I have a 2000 k-1500, auto, with the 4.3 V6. I want to purchase a 5.3 surplus engine, and install.. What will work and what will not.. The obvious like engine mounts, hoses, ect I understand.. Main concern is wiring?? compatability with the dash?? it is an auto..

help!

honestly.... i would sell that one and buy a 5.3, ive herd its better... less work and you will probably spend more money doing the engine swap

Well i put the 5.7 in my truck that came stock with the 4.8l V8 and i changed right over the only thing i did was change ecu, fuel pump and and a couple of plugs on the intake were diff. so i cut and spliced them together very simple to do most the wires are colored the same so just match. Hope that this comes to some use for you and if there is any thing else i can help with just ask

Justin
