I have been working on a 2002 suburban for forever (2 months) trying to help a lady out. There is semi hard pounding that is only comming from the driver side suspension components in the front. However this pounding can be felt from the passanger and even behind the driver. it even seems to be a tick with hard force. I have lubed all suspension components. I do not think that it could be rack and pinion because you can only feel it when your making a left turn. It seems to be making the tick when the suspension is not carring the weight load I.E. left truns. If I am at a stand still and turn left to right I can not get it to do anything. I have also replaced the shocks in hopes they were blown but still the same old tick. I have also found I can barely get the tick to rear its nasty head when I apply the brakes to where when it stops it sways like all tanks do and then i will hear a small less noticible tick. I am completly stumped and any advice will be appriciated. by the way this it a rear wheel drive with 123,000 on it. Thanks everyone and pray for the return of the camaro!!!

Sounds like a loose shock, or loose shock mount.
