I installed a set of Borla shorty headers (#17110) in my 2000 Silverado 5.3L. I started having trouble with a misfire in cylinder #7 because, I believe, the stock spark plug wire is too near the header pipe. I swapped wires with another cylinder and the misfire ceased, so I think the wire is bad. I then purchased a set of JBA Powercables (#0807) to replace the stock set. The JBA set was supposed to be 9.5in but is about a half inch longer. The result is that the new plug wire for cylinder #7 now rests on the header pipe! Has anybody out there had a problem like this? How did you solve it? Are shorty plugs the next step? If so, what plugs did you use? Thanks for any help you can offer.
