I plan on purchasing a zz383 crate engine. How can I get it off the truck when it gets delivered?

The truck delivering it might have a way to do it. If not get beer and bribe some people.

buy a good cherry picker and lift it out, or if its on a pallet use a fork lift, umm or lower it onto something lower than the truck, then lower that w/e and so on......or build a ramp? i really dont know i got my old 305 off some people and basically winged it by myself( BTW i set up 5 shipping pallets incase it fell over and would land int them.....which it did thank god for wood saving engines

Delivery trucks that deliver that kind of item almost always have a pallet jack and lift gate.
After all, they don't just throw it out and leave

I would agree they should have a way to get it out of the truck, however a cherrypicker wouldn't hurt to put it in what ever you plan on putting it in.
