... for a 1978 Chevy Malibu base model 2 door, preferably dark brown exterior/camel interior with a 305 and very low original miles (ideally 25K original or less).

Been looking to find one in mint shape for a while... hoping someone out there has one and is interested in selling or someone knows of a "grandma grocery getter" tucked away in some garage somewhere.

I am sure you have already checked ebay and autotrader.com. Grandma grocery getters are the best. I had a chance some years ago to buy a 69 firebird all original for $5000 and like a dumb a$$ I passed it up. I still kick myself for that one. Good Luck
