I have a 99 Suburban and was wondering what weight the roof rack is rated to.  I have found cargo racks that can handle up to 500 lbs, but I do not think that the stock roof rack can handle that much.  Thank you for any information.  John

The weight rating should be in your owners manual.  If you dont have yours go to mygmlink.com foe e-version of your manual.

2007 Suburban luggage carrier is rated for 200lbs
In 1999 the rating was 250lbs.
