Hello everyone as you can see I am new to the chevy family.  I recently bought a 2006 silverado 1500 with a standard stereo (am/fm/6 disc cd) (NO onstar or xm).  I was wondering if there is a quick connect wire harness for the stock stereo harness and an Awai dash unit (cdc-mp3).

If so and you know what I need please tell me what part number and where to get and price?  According to Circuit city website a fit is the (metra-eclipise #ec02-80 or ec01-80 wire harness)  I am just not sure about the eclipise part of it.

Also any info on how to get the stock unit out, I haven't tried yet.  I had a ford before and they pull straight out, no need to remove any dash panels.

Thanks for the help and info.

It's better to burn out than to fade away.
