I have a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer 4x4 with a 4L60E and a 4.3 MFI. I started by having a shifting problem. I would start off in O/D it would rev up but never shift. I then tried manually shifting it. It would shift from 1st to 2nd fine, when I would shift into drive it would rev up as if it went into neutral. I also noticed the speedo stopped working and the ABS light came on. The service engine light would come on and off. I connected it to a scanner and a VSS code came up. I then replaced the VSS, to no avail it did not fix the problem. I then checked the wiring between the VSS and the ECM the continuity was good. The two wires from the VSS don't connect directly to the ECM, they run to a "buffer" (not sure if that the correct term). This buffer sits along side the ECM and it translates the VSS signal before it enters the ECM. I have heard these could go bad???? I am still searching for the answer. I have a couple of things I will check over the weekend but my hopes are not very high. I am looking for any input or advice. Thanks in advance...
