Ok so my girlfriends 97 z24 has this rough idle and stalling problem. Its like its missing or something. She had a engine swap recently because of a previous blwn engine. We have takin it to a mechanic and he tells us that the only thing that he can tell that it is would be a computer issue. But hes not certain. You can watch the rpms drop on the tach and feel it. Also can look at the engine when runing and see it shake. Its not a fuel problem cause we have ran 3 bottles of fuel system cleaner through it. There is no check engine light. any idea of what it may be?

wiggle the plug wires around while it is doing the rough idle thing
it might be a loose connection
or the spark control module
also check for corrision in both ends of the plug wires

good luck

My girl friends 91 Cavalier had a intermittent problem with stalling, but it never happens when your in the driveway with the hood up, after weeks of this I finely got lucky, it happen as she pulled in the driveway, I pulled the code out of it, TPS= Throttle Position Sensor

My 97 cavy has most of those same problems but ive got a gas leak in mine. Up on the engine. Has to do with the Injectors. Ive Replaced the o rings several times and its still leaking. The check engine light likes to go on and off, its mostly off when the gas tank is almost full. When its below a quarter of a tank it runs so much more rough. Im stumped on what the issue is!
